Podcast Insider

Lots of things happening in the podcasting community this week, including Podcast Evolutions in Los Angeles. With Todd attending the event, Angelo Mandato, CIO of Blubrry, stepped in during his absence. Mike and Angelo talk about Chartable's IAB certification, Luminary and Spotify and more. Lots of WordPress discussion, as we recently released PowerPress 8.2. And a great interview between Todd and CJ Boat of Geek I/O. This week on Podcast Insider... News: Happy belated, Africa Podcast Day! Feb. 12. Chartable is now IAB certified. Smartphones will likely lead podcast growth. The never ending podcast subscription discussion - Luminary is expanding Dave Winer, co-inventor of the podcast RSS feed, has some things to say on whether or not its dead. 250 million - that's how much Spotify paid for The Ringer. At long last, a Google Podcasts home page. Best Practice: WordPress organization: Are you mixing blog posts with podcast posts? Should you have a landing page? A blog post page? We answer many site questions that might be plaguing podcasters. Blubrry Specific: PowerPress 8.2 is out! With a fancy new episode box. PowerPress 8.3 is in works and should be ready for beta soon. Todd, Toby and Jeff are in LA this week a Podcast Movement Evolutions. Shawn's PowerPress Tip of the Week - it's back! This time he discusses Moving RSS Feeds. Interview: CJ Boat  - Geek I/O Support: File names: Make sure each one of your episode file names is unique. If you don't use a new name, the new file will overwrite the old file for one thing and the stats will collect under the old file name mixed with the first time you used that filename. Reminder: Blubrry offers 2 versions of RSS feeds. 1) WordPress (self-hosted or PowerPress Site) 2) Blubrry.com.
